Bedroom tour 2015

Since we moved in to our new house in July, I've prioritised decorating the kitchen/Living room area and I've put off finishing our bedroom. We've put a lot of work in to getting it how we wanted over the last few weeks and so I thought I would take some photograph's!

Of course Pinterest played a big part in inspiring the decor. I wanted to recreate the look of the open shelves and clothes rails instead of just buying a normal wardrobe. I bought three rails from Ikea and we fixed them to the wall with two floating shelves above.
I've displayed some of my favourite shoes on the shelves and two of my teddies (so Sabbath can't reach them!).

I'm in love with our velvet style sleigh bed. It's the perfect grey and I love how luxurious it looks! I bought the tropical bedding from Marks and Spencer and the palm tree pillowcases are from Primark.

The vintage anatomy and the bunny wrapping paper are both from Utility and I just use clips to put them on the wall like prints.

So far I'm happy with how the bedroom is coming along, next I need to buy some drawers and I would like a vanity area to do my makeup!

River Island PVC ankle boots

As expected it didn't take long for me to treat myself to these River Island beauties!
When RI emailed me a £5 discount for my birthday I knew it was meant to be...
Of course I settled on the black PVC style because they will go with my 95% black wardrobe.

I was worried that the lack of a platform would leave my feet aching as they touched the ground, but honestly the sole is so sturdy and they really are comfortable to walk in. A few hours walking in them will be smooth sailing!

I'm seriously obsessed with these boots, they make me feel like I'm Brigitte Bardot!
I'm even considering treating myself to another pair but in the red anaconda print!

Here's some behind the scenes photo's with my baby Sabbath, he wanted to be in the pictures of the boots too but we compromised...

Is anyone else as obsessed with 60's fashion as I am right now?!

22nd Birthday...

So yesterday was my birthday and I ended up having a really chill but great day!

My boyfriend Mike got the day off work and so he was up on breakfast duty whilst I was unwrapping my gifts.

Like most people my age I was mainly greeted by money as I opened my cards (since everyone knows you can't go wrong with cash!) but I was given a few gifts from my Mum and her fiance and of course from Mike.

Firstly I opened the Egyptian tea set from my mum and we were so excited to try it out! We chose to try a peony tea and I loved watching the flower expand as it brewed (and it tasted amazing).

Mike has obviously been picking up on the hints I've been dropping over the last few months and he bought me a grey Moon bear by Hanjipan Designs.
The bear was wrapped beautifully and included a hand written note from the artist Hannah.

He is so fluffy and soft, I am really impressed with the attention to detail of the little chap.
My German Shepherd Sabbath wanted the Moon bear for himself so I had to hide him for now, my next plan of action will be getting a shelf in my bedroom to display him on!

Seriously check out the page, I need to collect more cuties!

Mike also surprised me with the "Sabbath" necklace that I've been obsessing over from Souvenir Jewelry.

I was so excited and I haven't taken it off since, it's certainly going to be a daily outfit staple.
The necklace is really high quality and it's amazing how they're made. If you follow her on Instagram you will know just how talented the artist is.

The next addition to my jewelry collection will be the "Sweet leaf" ring, it's so perfect (can you tell I love Black Sabbath?)

So after I ripped open my gifts I ate that awesome full English breakfast (#whatfatveganseat) and then chilled out and watched some crappy daytime TV with my loves.

I rounded off my birthday by having a fun bouldering session at The Climbing Hangar and then going for a beer and a burger at Brewdog Liverpool.

It was an amazing night but my camera failed to make it out of my bag because I'm too forgetful to take photo's!
Hopefully this year will go slower than the last!

To cut or not to cut

When I was 15 and going through my scene kid phase I decided it would be a good idea to cut almost all of my hair off and ever since I've been completely traumatised. Even having my split ends trimmed would make me panic.
6 years later and my hair was down to my bum, lifeless and too thick for me to manage most of the time. I love long, thick mermaid hair, but mine was getting scruffy and a curly blow dry was starting to take over an hour!
Lately I've been obsessed with the short bob, especially on Kim K, Kylie Jenner and Giuliana Rancic. After scrolling through Pinterest looking through hairstyles I was finally feeling confident enough to go for it!
I showed my hairdresser some pictures of Kim K when she was a blondie, but instead of commiting to the long bob I asked for slightly longer (baby steps!).

Here is what my hair was like before...

... and 10 inches later

I know it's not super short, but 10 inches of hair makes a huge difference!
I'm so pleased with it, literally a weight has been lifted from my shoulders, no more headaches when I wear my hair up.
I just love it, I feel a lot more polished now and I can't wait to try different styles and experiment.

I think next time I'm going to go for the collar bone length cut, now I'm confident that I won't have any regrets afterwards!
