Cruelty free makeup.. the new highlighter palette

I thought I'd quickly share with you the new highlighter palette that's become my current makeup addiction!
Recently I found out that Sleek are Cruelty free and so I decided to pay my local Superdrug a visit. I bought the Solstice highlighting palette and the Matte me liquid lipstick in "Birthday suit".

-

I had read lots of positive reviews about the matte me lipsticks, with people requesting more nude and neutral shades in particular. I'm really impressed with "Birthday suit" and I've been using it as my new daily lip colour. The colour is really subtle but still pretty and the matte formula means that it lasts hours, even through lunch!

-

Sleek have several highlighting palette's to choose from, I chose "Solstice" as I was loving the variety of the colours! There is one cream formula (that I have been using as a base) and three shimmery powders. I am so happy with the shades and the pigmentation is really impressive.

What's your favourite highlighter to use?

Leopard print and faux shearling OOTD

After spending a huge amount of money on Christmas gifts, the plan was to start the New year by saving all of my pennies! That plan soon failed when I popped to town and caught sight of all the amazing sales (oops). Luckily the reduced prices means it wasn't too naughty.

-

I fell in love with this Topshop dress a few weeks back but couldn't justify the price, so I felt it was meant to be when I found it for only £20! (It's only £15 now on the website if you're interested). I love the high neck and the metallic finish.
After shaving my head it wasn't long before I realised I had to buy a scarf to keep my neck warm! When I picked up this faux shearling stole from New Look I didn't really think it was something I'd wear, but when I tried the scarf on I fell in love with it.
It's so toasty warm and it looks amazing with all of my coats.

Wardrobe staple... The denim shirt

I've been on the hunt for a denim shirt for quite some time now and I was finally coming around to the idea of spending £30 on a Topshop one when I stumbled across this beauty from Primark! For £10 it was a steal and I've already got plenty of wear out of it.
I wanted to get these photo's outside of the pretty colourful houses but the fear of someone opening their front door to me stumbling around in heels was too off putting.

-

I've been rather uninspired with my art lately so I'm going to try accompanying each post with an illustration in an attempt to restart my creativity.
I'm also working on redesigning the blog so hopefully I will be more inspired here too!

Halloween Series #1 Glamour ghoul Makeup

October is one of my favourite months of the year and I try to make Halloween last as long as possible! I'm going to do a Halloween series for you guys, with a few makeup looks and some other spooky posts that I'm excited about!

For this first look I've kept the makeup pretty simple and used quite earthy tones, like rust red on the eyes and grey contouring on the nose and cheeks.
I wanted the imperfections of my skin to come through so I went for minimal coverage and just used concealer to cover any spots. The eyebrows are really dramatic, I used black and kept the lines strong and sharp.
The lipstick is what makes the look perfect for the Halloween season! I lined the lips with a black liner and then brought the edges out to a sharp point. I then blotted some red lipstick to the centre of the lips and then blended the two colours together.

I'm happy with how the makeup turned out and now I'm psyched to get more posts together in the Halloween theme!

I don't wanna sleep, I just wanna keep on lovin' you.. OOTD

I finally got around to buying a new camera!
After reading tons of reviews, I decided on the Nikon D3200. It's a great beginners DSLR and we were eager to try it out!
Considering it was such an overcast day I'm impressed with how well the photo's turned out and I can't wait to experiment more and take some amazing shots of my dog!

Date night!

Jeans - Topshop
Holographic heels - Zara (old, similar here and here)
Clutch - Primark
Earrings - Claire's

I'm in work at 7 am on Saturday mornings so usually come the night time I'm more likely to get a take away and vegetate on the couch watching The X factor than to get all dressed up and go out.
It must have been the obscene amount of caffeine I consumed yesterday that made me get dressed up and change my lazy ways!

I've had this American Apparel body for a few years now and I used to get a lot of wear out of it but lately I've been a bit shy about showing my cleavage (or lack of!). I decided to team it with my high waisted Topshop jeans so I wouldn't feel too exposed and I threw a coat over so I could zip up if I wasn't feeling as confident.

My Zara stiletto's are also a few years old but they have definitely stood the test of time. It was my first time wearing really high heels since I sprained my ankle in February, I'd been sticking to chunky wedges or heeled boots for a bit of security, but I'm glad I pushed myself, it's crazy how much that injury has mentally held me back even when I was physically healed!

I finally got around to buying these clip on earrings from Claire's Accessories. I removed my ear piercings for good in 2013, they had been really sore for a while and when I got a job that didn't allow piercings I just committed to taking them out.
the idea of wearing the clip on's felt weird but once they were on I didn't feel them all night and I felt super sassy having the feel of big hoops again! Will definitely be buying more.

We finally got around to trying The brunch club as I'd heard really great things about it!
Firstly I had a delicious strawberry daiquiri and it really was delicious! We decided on sharing the vegan platter and we also shared the falafel wrap, all of the food was so fresh and you can tell that the chefs are really passionate about experimenting with flavours. Seriously think it was the best hummus I'd ever tried!
Sorry the picture doesn't do it justice, hopefully I'll be able to invest in a good camera soon...
