Time to invest in a Winter coat

I'm off to London at the end of the month and I wanted a winter coat that was warm but would also look nice and go with whatever outfits I decided to take on the trip. I've wanted a shearling look-alike biker coat since seeing this amazing outfit on Pinterest and I finally decided to treat myself.

The hunt began and ended in Topshop after stumbling across this beauty. I wanted an oversized style and after initially trying on the size 12 I decided to go all out and pick up the 14. The coat isn't as thick as you might expect but it is fluffy on the inside and if you size up there will be plenty of room to wear a jumper beneath on those really cold winter days.

The suede effect is so cosy, soft and of course cruelty free! I spotted a similar version in Warehouse that was a leather effect but I decided to go with something different from the biker I already have.

I'm so happy with the purchase and I'm excited to try styling it in different ways!

One last thing before I shuffle off the planet... OOTD

Today was the first day I've had off with my boyfriend in such a long time, so I thought I'd enlist him to get some photo's of me as we ventured around the cathedral gardens.

This is the first day that it's properly felt like winter, I think we've completely bypassed Autumn this year, although I did get to crunch my feet in the leaves which was fun!

It was so cold that I ended up going in to town and treating myself to a new coat, I'm obsessed with it so I'm sure it will be photographed on here soon!
I think it's time to start wearing scarves, gloves and to have a beanie permanently glued to my head.

Autumn Essentials Wishlist

I've had to be a bit more sensible with my spending lately, so I thought it would be good to compile some outfits that have awesome key pieces.
This will help me justify buying a few staple pieces to see me through the season!

Casual

Faux fur moto Jacket - Forever 21
Camo tee - Adidas
Gold plated boots - River Island
Hand knitted beanie - Topshop

I've been dressing quite smart lately so I fancy changing it up a bit. I love this chunky fake leather jacket and I know I would get so much wear out of it! I would probably buy the t shirt over sized and team it with some chunky tights...

Going out

Slinky bodycon midi dress - Boohoo
Laser cut heels - Missguided
Longline grey coat - Forever 21
Metallic Cluth bag - Asos

Nude and camel tones sadly wash me out when I wear them so instead I chose this warmer mauve shade and I absolutely love it!
I tried on this grey coat at Forever 21 recently and I completely regretted it because I literally fell in love. The coat is really high quality and it fits perfectly, sitting just below the knee on me... so perfect!

Work

Knit hoodie - Forever 21
High rise ripped jeans - Cheap Monday
Over the knee boots - Matalan
Cat eye sunglasses - Asos

I spend most of my work time hoovering, so it's essential that I'm comfy and since the building is an old warehouse I need to wrap up and be cosy!
I love the fit of this cropped hoody, I imagine it would be pretty flattering and the boots are dressy, but also guaranteed to keep my toes warm!
The sunglasses are good for travelling home from work and hiding my make up free face...

Gym

Marble print sports bra - Forever 21
Mesh paneled athletic jacket - Forever 21
Adidas originals leggings - JD Sports
Black and white Nike free run's - Schuh
Floral backpack - Vans

I am obsessed with this jacket! I always love going to Forever 21 for workout clothes, it's so cheap and stylish. I need a new backpack because mine is all muddy and wrecked, but I'm torn between getting a sensible one from the likes of Go Outdoors, or getting something like this Vans backpack (because, well it's gorgeous!).

Ah I want everything!

Halloween Series #2 My fortune telling experience

I was always nervous about visiting a psychic, I was worried they would warn me that I was about to get dumped or tell me to visit the doctor because they envisioned an illness.
When the opportunity came for me to have my fortune read a few years ago, I decided to have some fun and try it out!

The woman who did my reading was really sweet and funny. We started with her shuffling her Tarot cards and getting me to pick out ten from the pack. She then lay them out and began to give me the reading. I honestly didn't know what to expect going in to it. I'm a very open minded and spiritual person, but at the same time I wasn't going to just believe everything that she said.

She started off by talking about my boyfriend Mike and how serious our relationship is and she described his job and his personality exactly right, so that got me feeling a bit more open to the situation.

She then went on to describe me as an artist and told me that I would be retraining in something creative. At the time I had just finished studying art and design for two years and I was in the process of signing up for a beauty and special effects makeup course. I was trying not to give away too much detail but at the same time I  was confirming that what she was saying was right, so maybe I was giving things away?

Next she spoke about me signing important documents, so that could have been referring to me moving in to my first flat with my boyfriend a few months later.

The comment that excites me the most meant nothing to me at the time. She told me that my career would be online and I would work from a computer. At the time I thought that was ridiculous because when she said that all I imagined was me working a boring office job and that is something that I could never imagine myself doing.
To write this post I found an old diary that I knew I would have written about the psychic experience in and when I read three years later about her mentioning the computer I just couldn't believe it. Maybe she knew about my blog before I did?!

She also pulled several cards about me having children and about me taking time from work in the future to raise them. At the time I was excited about that because it's exactly what I always wanted, but things have changed and I honestly don't think I want children so now I'm just thankful that this prediction hasn't happened!

It was a really awesome experience and I do definitely reccomend visiting a fortune teller that you have heard good things about! Now I'm eager to have another reading and see if I can have another thought provoking experience!

Comment letting me know you're opinion on fortune tellers and if you've had any experiences yourself! I'd love to hear them...

Halloween Series #1 Glamour ghoul Makeup

October is one of my favourite months of the year and I try to make Halloween last as long as possible! I'm going to do a Halloween series for you guys, with a few makeup looks and some other spooky posts that I'm excited about!

For this first look I've kept the makeup pretty simple and used quite earthy tones, like rust red on the eyes and grey contouring on the nose and cheeks.
I wanted the imperfections of my skin to come through so I went for minimal coverage and just used concealer to cover any spots. The eyebrows are really dramatic, I used black and kept the lines strong and sharp.
The lipstick is what makes the look perfect for the Halloween season! I lined the lips with a black liner and then brought the edges out to a sharp point. I then blotted some red lipstick to the centre of the lips and then blended the two colours together.

I'm happy with how the makeup turned out and now I'm psyched to get more posts together in the Halloween theme!

I don't wanna sleep, I just wanna keep on lovin' you.. OOTD

I finally got around to buying a new camera!
After reading tons of reviews, I decided on the Nikon D3200. It's a great beginners DSLR and we were eager to try it out!
Considering it was such an overcast day I'm impressed with how well the photo's turned out and I can't wait to experiment more and take some amazing shots of my dog!

Keep your 'lectric eye on me babe, put your ray gun to my head.. OOTD

I think it's safe to say that Autumn is well and truly here. I'm currently obsessed with this faux fur gilet from Marks and Spencer. It's easy to layer and super cozy for these frosty mornings.

I've mainly been wearing it over all black outfits because I'm predictable like that, but here I teamed it with my grey over the knee boots to dress it up a bit and a colourful 70's style blouse. Definitely feeling like I'm in Almost Famous!

Apologies for my lack of makeup in this impromptu photo shoot in my Nan's garden. I'm planning on buying a new camera this weekend so I will be stepping up my outfit post game!
