Summer Shoe Wishlist

Strappy Stilettos - Public Desire
Gold metal pool sliders - River Island
Ankle strap stilettos - New look
Lace up gladiator heels - Boohoo
Metallic platforms - River Island
Flatform mule - Office

This summer I'm digging nudes, sandals, mules and metallic.
I feel this is the perfect selection of footwear for a tropical holiday, now all I need to do is sort a holiday!

Also I'd forgotten how amazing New Look is for great value, stunning heels. These strappy sandals come in a huge choice of patterns and shades, I couldn't decide what colour was my fave! I'm obsessed...

How I overdraw my lips

I wasn't blessed with big lips so for several years I've been overdrawing my lip line when I apply my lipstick. Now I have to overdraw my lips pretty much whenever I leave the house, even if I don't have any other makeup on, I feel incomplete without them!

"Duh, it's totally obvious. Your lips went from Cameron Diaz to Jay-Z"

Just to clarify I'm not going for the natural look, but this technique can still be used on your natural lip line to create a fuller pout or to just slightly go over the lip line.

So as you can see my bottom lip is a lot larger than my top, this is scar tissue from when I had snakebites and they rejected.

I use a lip liner that's a similar colour to my lips and I overdraw to the desired size, this sometimes takes a few attempts to get them looking right but practise makes perfect!

If you're trying this for the first time start by slightly going over the line of your natural lips and then build up to a size that you're happy with.

I'm happy with the size of my bottom lip so I just even out the edges with my lip liner and cover up my scars as much as I can.

The next step is using a brown, darker lip liner to shade over the natural lip line and to create dimension. I then blend it out with the first lip pencil.

I'll either leave my lips at this point or I'll add a lip gloss or a nude lipstick depending on my mood!

So that is how I overdraw my lips!
Please ignore my deviated septum and my general awkwardness ❤️

Everyday makeup routine

Pretty much everyday I use a variation of this makeup routine (well the days I can be bothered wearing any makeup!)
I love experimenting and changing my look up. Right now I'm really in to heavy contouring and highlighting and overdrawing my lips to Pamela Anderson proportions, she is my spirit animal!

Foundation - Illamasqua Skinbase
Powder - Illamasqua pressed powder
Contour and highlight - Illamasqua sculpting powder duo
Eyebrows - Barry M pencil
Lips - Mehron "sweet" lip pencil
Eyeliner - Barry M
Mascara - Barry M Lash Vegas

The eye shadows are from a massive palette I bought from Ebay a while ago, it has every colour you could ever imagine! I used a blending brush to put the brown in my crease and then pressed a red colour on to my lid.

I'm going to do a few more detailed posts with different looks and a post about how I overdraw my lips and different ways to make them appear bigger, so keep checking back!

Also can you spot my handsome German Shepherd Sabbath in the second photo?! He's too cute I can't even deal.

Candyfloss Coat.. OOTD

Today was just a laid back Sunday, I went for brunch and had a delicious vegan breakfast then played with my German Shepherd Sabbath.
I've been sticking to the usual colour palette of all black everything lately, so I love that adding my Primark pastel pink coat really brightens up the look.
How perfect are these Public Desire knee high boots?! Can't wait for Spring so I get to wear them without tights...

Coat - Primark
Grey knee high boots - Public Desire
Gold chain - New Look
Cropped jumper - Missguided
Skater skirt - Primark

Lavender Hair

Lately I've been trying to be more spontaneous and it occurred to me that I've had the same blonde hair for three years, not very spontaneous of me!

After searching for hours on Pinterest I finally decided I was going to take the leap and dye my hair a pinky/purple. I bought two pots of Directions Lavender dye and left it on for about an hour and a half. When I washed off the colour I could see that the freshly bleached top of my hair took the colour a lot better and so it was a bright purple, whereas the ends of my hair were left more of a lilac, pastel pink mixture. This resulted in an accidental ombre which I really love!

I'm now completely inspired to keep experimenting with my hair colour and I love how I can match my eyebrows to it and be more adventurous with my makeup. I mainly wear head to toe black and so this colour is allowing me to stand out a little more than I normally do!

I think next I'm going to try electric blue or pastel turquoise.
